A yellow card is issued for a reckless tackle.  The referee signals with a non-NFHS approved signal.  High school referees must always use approved NFHS signals.  In addition, all officials need to use the resources available to get the ten yard distance correct.  This game is played on a football field with each yard clearly identified.
